Call for Abstract Submission
Dalhousie University’s Health and Human Performance Graduate Student Society formally invites you to submit abstracts for the 10th annual Crossroads Conference. Crossroads will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Dalhousie University.
Designed as an adjudicated, peer-reviewed academic forum for undergraduate and graduate students, Crossroads is a unique opportunity for students to showcase and engage in dialogue about their innovative health research. Emphasizing the importance of inter-disciplinary exchange, the conference includes submissions from a wide range of health-related disciplines, such as health promotion, leisure, kinesiology, nursing, and health administration.
Abstracts addressing three types of presentations will be considered:
- Presentations about research projects that involve original data and analyses (original contribution: data-based)

Presentations of proposed research projects (original contribution: proposal)

Presentations of original syntheses of the literature (original contribution: literature review/synthesis, commentary
Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to present research at Crossroads. Presentations can be oral presentations (15 minutes with 5 additional minutes for questions) or poster presentations.
Submission Process and Deadlines
All abstracts are to be submitted electronically using the online abstract submission form (Abstract Submission Form). Abstracts must not exceed 250 words, not including authors or title. Abstract registration forms should be emailed to crossroads@dal.ca. Submission of the abstract constitutes permission for the conference organizers to publish the abstracts in either printed or electronic format.
Earlybird submission date: December 31st, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. AST
Final submission date: March 2nd, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. AST
Review Notices
Abstract review results are expected to be sent by email on or before March 5th, 2012. Earlybird abstract review results will be sent by email on or before January 16th, 2012. Applicants are encouraged to apply early for expedited abstract review results.
Registration & Payment
Conference payment will be required upon abstract acceptance.
